The recent flood of political debates motivated us to talk American politics on this week’s episode of the Sofa King Podcast. We didn’t want to just become some talking heads discussing the current candidates (though there is a little bit of that); instead, we wanted to discuss the overall practices and malpractices of the US political monster.

We explore the flawed two party system, Duverger’s Law, gerrymandering, lobbying, and how much the American population does or does not influence the votes of Congress and the Senate. A large portion of our talk turns to money and power as well as the strange Electoral College and why it pretty much sucks. Our guest Jason Roskam brings some interesting flavor to the table, and he even has kind things to say about Donald Trump!
