Episode 147: Jeffrey Dahmer, The Milwaukee Cannibal

Jeffery Dahmer

This episode of the Sofa King Podcast focuses on the murder spree of one of America’s most notorious serial killers, “The Milwaukee Cannibal,” Jeffrey Dahmer. Born in Milwaukee in 1960, Dahmer grew up as an isolated child who seemed to fit the profile that many such monsters fit. He was white, middle classed, had few friends, was a loner, and was fascinated with death and dissecting dead animals. His parents had a bitter divorce, and this was thought to have driven him to alcoholism in his teen years. His drinking got him in trouble at school and years later even got him discharged from the US Army.

However, through his teen and early adult years, his sexual frustrations and murderous tendencies started to take over. He killed his first victim (Steven Hicks) at only 18 years old, and though it took him another 9 years to kill again, he eventually became addicted to killing. And he didn’t just kill, he killed horribly.

He would typically drug men’s drinks when they returned to his apartment (or his grandmother’s house) to have sex with him. Then, Dahmer would strangle or bludgeon them to death. However, he admitted after he was caught that for him, killing was about total control over the victim, to the point that he even started horrible experiments trying to make young men become his “sex zombies.” This typically involved drilling into their heads and pouring acid and boiling water into the brains.

Oh, and did we mention that he ate their bodies after he had sex with them and dismembered them? How many did he kill? What other tortures did he inflict? How many chances did cops have to arrest him and end his killing spree? What body part trophies did the cops find in his apartment, and how did eventually die? What parts of the anatomy were too tough to chew? Listen, laugh, learn.
